Baby Jogger Summit

We got his new stroller! It took about a month or two of research online to decide. Most of the strollers we looked into shared a common complaint: If the child was taller their head hit the canopy shade. We hunted and hunted, reading a lot of reviews and talking to many people and finally discovered this one. Its about 2-3 inches taller in the seat so nothing hits his head. It is so much wider, taller and longer. Even when he hangs his feet they dont come close to the ground. In his old stroller he could stretch and run his toes along the ground. His shoes always got caught between the front wheels so we couldnt turn or he would get stuck and lose a shoe. It goes up to 75 lbs so we have a few years with it before we have to decide if he still needs one and buy another.
Matt enjoyed jogging with it. He loves that the wheels are like bike wheels and it has shocks on all three wheels so it handles bumps and curbs great. Liz did a little running with it as well. We all took a walk together and love that the canopy has multi-positions. It detachs at the top so you can block the sun from the top and front if need be. It has FOUR windows on the canopy shade as well and when we recline him it opens up so he can get a breeze and hopefully not overheat as much.
Its SUPER wide so he has wiggle room to get in comfy positions. He loves the padded straps on the shoulders and we love that its a quick release to remove the shoulder harness and let him just use the waist belt.
It fits easily in our CR-V and if need be we can remove the wheels pretty easily to make it even smaller. The basket underneath doesn't hold much, which seemed pretty common with most jogging strollers. It does have a nice mesh pocket on the back of the seat and a smaller zipper pocket for keys/phone. We still need to purchase the belly bar. We decided against the child console in the front because the reviews on it weren't great. We figure we can use the same cup/snack holder that we hook onto his carseat. We also plan on buying a parent console for us (or we'll just get used to holding our drinks again) and the cooler bag attachment for his drinks.
Overall, we LOVE it. Michael LOVES it. We haven't been able to take long walks in such a long time because he had outgrown the old stroller. Michael loved taking walks and now we get to do them again! We are very thankful to everyone who helped make this possible for him.

A BIG Thanks

We're frequently asked by friends if we have a fund started for Michael. We always answered "no". Part of it was a pride thing. The other reason we didn't have a fund started was that we hadn't needed one yet. Most of his needs were met through insurance or were so minor we didn't need to ask for help.

We started realizing that as Michael got older his needs grew as well and insurance seemed to cover less and less. My husband and I would sit and discuss what we could afford, what we really needed, and what Michael could do without for now. It was becoming difficult to know there were things out there that Michael could benefit from, but that we'd never afford.

We had someone explain to us that now is the time to ask for help. Not in the future, when our savings account is gone, or when we've pushed people's generosity away so many times that we can't bring ourselves to ask for help. As we started asking people what they thought about setting up a fund for Michael we noticed that people truly wanted to help.

We're very grateful for all the help we've received from our family and friends. We made this page to showcase what we're able to do with the assistance we've received and what our goals for Michael are.

Again, THANK YOU to everyone who supports Michael. It is encouraging to know we are not alone ♥
